Umbria is the green heart of Italy, and Montone is the center of Umbria’s heart.

A medieval hilltop village, protected by ancient walls, basking in the summer sun, cloaked in fall mists; it is beautiful in every season. Aroma Cucina is located within the walls of our small village.

It’s easy to step back in time here in Montone. Bells ring the hour, a traffic jam is a dog on a leash and three people chatting. Looking at the walls of the buildings you can literally see history in front of your eyes. Cars are not permitted inside the walls, but horses are! There is convenient parking right outside the walls.

There is one central piazza where you can pass the time of day, eat a gelato, meet friends for an aperitivo, mail your postcards, or buy a few things at the small shops. There are various lodging options in town, ranging from apartments to a small private house.

For a small village, Montone has a lot going on! There are frequent events such as our Film Festival, Donazione della Santa Spina. Check back frequently for events in the area.
