Another year flies by

Toast It’s purely arbitrary that we mark tomorrow as the start of the new year. Our pagan ancients celebrated the coming of a New Year in spring, a logical time of new beginnings. Blame that pesky Julius Cesear for plunking the New Year down in January. Didn’t he even think about airports and travel and snowstorms?? Those Romans! j

Well, the New Year has to start sometime, and I’ll try and remember to eat lentils to bring good fortune into our household.

Even though it’s just a date on a calendar,  who am I to turn down a chance  to go to a good party with family and friends? For the past few years, our New Year’s tradition is to a throw a costume party and this year it’s a Bollywood theme. So our house smells like every spice you can imagine as a pot of lamb rogan josh simmers in the oven. I’m going to go slip into my Indian temptress costume, with many jewels, and go have some fun tonight.

Wishing everyone a safe, healthy and happy New Year!
